Speakers Program - Jerome: Too Stubborn to Die
This presentation looks at the numerous disasters, tragedies, and setbacks the city of Jerome faced in its first 3/4 century and still came out on top. From the time the Sinagua's mined copper for decoration and ornamentation to the Spanish exploration for gold and silver to the modern discovery of copper riches within Cleopatra Hill, Jerome exploded to become the fourth largest city in Arizona. Less than half a century later, its population has dwindled to 243. The presentation includes many seldom seen images.
